Barcelona Days 4 & 5

We are actually in Madrid now, but I need to catch up the last two days.

After two days of walking tours in Barcelona, we opted to spend the third day on a " hop on/hop off bus.  The weather was beautiful and sitting on the top of the double decker bus was delightful as we spent all day cruising through the city, listening to the audio commentary.  We passed by the magnificent Sagrada Familia once again.

Perhaps the most fun was making new friends with the English speaking travelers we encountered on the bus - people from Australia and from Naperville.  The night before, we watch the returns from the French election in the lobby of our hotel with folks from Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia.  Dinner was at a Chinese buffet that offered fresh seafood, cooked to order in addition to the more standard options.

Everywhere we go, we see these huge, ugly recycling and garbage receptacles.  They take up space on sidewalks and are also placed on streets where they take up parking spaces.

This morning we visited a local fresh food market.  We've been to more exotic markets but this one impressed us with how colorful and beautifully arranged the food looked.
